About the Agency

What Moments of Sonder Travel is, how we work, and what makes a boutique luxury travel advisor different from booking on your own.

A travel advisor is a professional who designs, plans, and books travel on your behalf, bringing expertise, relationships, and personal knowledge to the process that no search engine can replicate. Where a booking platform gives you options, a travel advisor gives you answers. They know which properties are right for your specific needs, which experiences are genuinely worth doing, and how to sequence a journey so it flows the way it should.

Beyond the logistics, a good travel advisor saves you time, prevents costly mistakes, and provides advocacy when things go wrong. At the luxury level, they also unlock access, preferred partner benefits, upgrades, amenities, and relationships with properties that make a meaningful difference to your experience on the ground. You pay the same or less than booking directly, and you arrive better prepared and better received.

Moments of Sonder was founded on a deep and personal conviction: that travel is one of the most extraordinary gifts available to a human being. Not as escape, but as encounter. Not as distraction, but as transformation. Priscilla Nzessi has been intentional about travel for over fifteen years, and for the last several years has taken more than twenty trips a year, because she genuinely believes, rooted in her Christian faith, that the world God made is lavish and intentional and designed to be experienced with awe. Every itinerary she designs is shaped by that belief, an invitation for her clients to receive what the world has to offer and return home changed by it.

This is a boutique agency, small by design, intentional by nature. Every client relationship is personal. Every itinerary is built from scratch. Priscilla brings extensive training across the world's leading luxury brands, personal travel experience across more than more than 25 countries, and knowledge built from visiting properties and destinations first-hand specifically to understand what she is recommending. The standard of care is consistent regardless of which service tier you choose.

Sonder is the realization that every person you encounter has a life as vivid, complex, and deeply felt as your own, running parallel to yours and just as full. It is the moment you stop moving through the world as a spectator and start recognizing it as a place inhabited by billions of extraordinary stories.

Priscilla named the agency Moments of Sonder because travel is the most reliable path to that kind of seeing. When you are genuinely present in a new place, among people whose lives you know nothing about, sonder happens naturally. It changes how you understand the world and your place within it. That transformation is what every journey we design is ultimately for.

Moments of Sonder Travel is affiliated with the Travel Leaders Network, one of the largest and most respected travel agency networks in North America. This membership provides access to preferred partner programs with the world's leading luxury hospitality brands, including Aman, Belmond, Hyatt, Banyan Tree, Six Senses, and many more, unlocking exclusive benefits for clients at participating properties such as complimentary breakfast, property credits, room upgrades where available, and early check-in or late checkout.

Priscilla maintains extensive training certifications across major luxury brands and regularly travels to destinations and properties specifically to build first-hand knowledge, experiencing them as a guest in order to understand exactly what she is recommending. This means the recommendations you receive are not drawn from brochures or websites, but from trained expertise and personal experience on the ground. These preferred partner benefits are available across all service tiers, including The Reserve.

Yes. Priscilla brings deep personal experience to many destinations, and for those she has not yet visited herself, she brings an equally rigorous approach through trusted partners, dedicated research, and the understanding of travel that comes from twenty-plus trips a year. The world is too large and too extraordinary for any advisor to have seen all of it.

What matters is knowing how to travel, how to listen, and how to design an experience that is genuinely right for who you are, regardless of whether the destination is one she has stood in personally.

Getting Started

How to begin your engagement with Moments of Sonder, from the first form to the first call to the first booking.

Fill out the intake form on the Start Planning page. You will share your contact information and initial travel ideas, destinations you are considering, approximate dates, who you are traveling with, and what you need this journey to be. Once submitted, you will receive a calendar link to schedule your $75 consultation call with Priscilla.

If you simply want a hotel booking with no planning involved, The Reserve has its own simpler form that does not require a consultation call.

Go to Start Planning →

The $75 consultation call is a dedicated one-on-one conversation with Priscilla, not a sales call, but a real planning conversation. Because you complete an intake form before the call, Priscilla already understands your starting point when you sit down together. The call goes deeper faster: she learns what this journey truly needs to be, and you leave with a clear picture of which service tier is right for your trip.

This $75 is credited toward your planning fee when you move forward with any service tier. If you decide not to proceed, it is non-refundable. The consultation call is required for all tiers except The Reserve.

The honest answer: the earlier the better, and ideally six months to a year before you want to travel. This is not simply a logistical preference, it is what allows us to build the best possible journey for you. The finest properties at peak dates sell out far in advance. Truly extraordinary experiences require time to arrange. And a custom itinerary benefits enormously from the time to iterate, refine, and perfect it together. For elite events, the Olympics, Wimbledon, the Kentucky Derby, major sporting occasions, planning should begin a year or more ahead to secure the right access and accommodations.

The formal minimum is 90 days before travel. If your travel is within 90 days of your inquiry, we can still help, but a 20% expedited service fee applies to the planning fee to reflect the additional urgency and coordination required. Reaching out six months to a year in advance gives us the time to do our best work.

The intake form you complete when booking the call captures most of what Priscilla needs. Beyond that, it helps to have a general sense of your travel dates, who is traveling with you, and any non-negotiables, dietary requirements, accessibility needs, places you have already been and loved, or places you would like to avoid.

You do not need a fully formed idea. Many of the best journeys begin with nothing more than a feeling, a season of life that calls for something specific, a relationship that deserves a certain kind of trip, or simply a place that has always been on the list. Priscilla is skilled at turning even the most open-ended brief into something precise and extraordinary.

Yes, that is exactly what The Reserve is for. If you already know your hotel, your dates, and your destination, you can submit a simple booking request with no consultation call required. Moments of Sonder books the stay on your behalf through our preferred partner network, unlocking potential upgrades, amenities, and property credits that are not available when booking directly.

For bookings of $2,500 or more, there is no advisory fee, the advisor earns a commission from the property. For bookings under $2,500, a $50 booking fee applies. One amendment is included with every Reserve booking.

Services & Pricing

Understanding the planning fee, the difference between tiers, what each service includes, and how Track B works.

A planning fee is the professional fee charged for Priscilla's expertise, time, and access, separate from what you spend on hotels, experiences, and travel itself. It compensates for the hours of research, design, booking coordination, and advocacy that go into building your journey.

It is not applied toward trip costs because it is a fundamentally different thing: you are paying for a professional service, not a travel deposit. Think of it the same way you would a fee paid to an architect, an attorney, or a financial advisor, the fee is for their expertise, and the cost of what they help you build or navigate is separate.

Tier I (The Compass, $300 per destination) is for independent travelers who love the planning process but want expert curation. You receive a destination overview, accommodation options, an itinerary outline, dining recommendations, and ground transportation coordination. We book your hotel on your behalf. You handle the rest.

Tier II (Designed Around Your Purpose, $750–$1,500) is full custom planning for a single trip, a deep-dive discovery session, a fully customized itinerary, all bookings handled on your behalf, two rounds of revisions, a pre-departure briefing, and limited travel support. The fee is confirmed on the consultation call based on your trip's scope.

Tier III (Seamless, Elevated & Entirely Hands-Off, by consultation) is total management for a single journey, typically for trips with a total travel investment of $75,000 or more. End-to-end planning, unlimited revisions, VIP hotel advocacy, on-call support throughout, and a branded digital itinerary. Flights are fully included.

See Full Services & Pricing →

Flight booking availability depends on your service tier, and it is worth understanding that our role is coordinating and booking flights on your behalf, not guaranteeing pricing. Flight prices change constantly, and any fare suggestions provided are accurate at the time of the recommendation only.

Tier I (The Compass) provides flight suggestions and general guidance, but we do not book flights at this tier. Tier II does not include flight booking, but it is available as an optional add-on. Tier III includes full flight coordination as part of the service, with private air quotes available upon request. Track B (The Collection and Maison Sonder) includes flight coordination as a core part of the full travel management relationship.

Cruise and rail travel within Tier II is priced differently from standard itinerary planning because the coordination is cabin-based rather than itinerary-based. A solo traveler or couple booking one or two cabins is $300. A small group requiring three to five cabins is $500. A large or multigenerational group of six or more cabins is $750.

These fees cover cabin selection, booking coordination, and all pre- and post-cruise or rail travel arrangements, including any hotel stays, transfers, and experiences booked before embarkation or after disembarkation as part of the same journey. The fee reflects the full scope of coordination, not just the onboard booking itself.

Absolutely. Track A is a per-service engagement, you can return as many times as you like for individual trips. Each engagement begins with a new consultation call, and the $75 fee is credited toward the planning fee for that trip.

If you travel regularly and would prefer a sustained annual partnership, one advisor who knows you, your preferences, and your travel history across multiple journeys, Track B (The Collection) is designed for exactly that. Track A is the gateway to Track B, and the relationship deepens with every trip.

Maison Sonder is the agency's highest and most personal service tier, a private relationship between Priscilla and a small number of clients whose travel vision, values, and life are deeply aligned with the soul of the agency. It is not a service with a menu of inclusions. It is an ongoing partnership with no limits, no fixed deliverables, and direct access to Priscilla personally.

Membership is by invitation only, extended exclusively to existing Collection (Tier IV) clients. There is no application process, no referral path, and no way to request consideration. Priscilla extends invitations personally, at her discretion, when the relationship and the fit are right.

No. All planning fees, including the $75 consultation call fee, are non-refundable. They represent Priscilla's time, expertise, and the professional service rendered in designing or planning your journey. They are never applied toward the cost of your trip. This is standard practice for professional travel advisory services at the luxury level, and it is what ensures every client engagement is intentional and mutual.

During & After

What support looks like while you are traveling, how we handle disruptions, and what happens when you return home.

It depends on your service tier. Tier I (The Compass) does not include travel support, you are traveling independently using our curated guide. Tier II includes limited support for questions and guidance at key moments. Tier III and Track B include full on-call support throughout your journey, for changes, emergencies, cancellations, or anything that needs immediate attention.

At Tier III and above, if something shifts while you are traveling, Priscilla handles it. You keep going.

For Tier III and Track B clients, Priscilla is reachable and responsive throughout your travel. Whether it is a flight disruption, a property issue, a change of plans, or an emergency, she advocates on your behalf and works to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

For all clients, comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and is a standard part of the planning and booking process at Moments of Sonder, not an afterthought. We discuss coverage options during the design phase, so that your insurance is in place from the moment your first deposit is made. Travel insurance should ideally be purchased at the time of initial booking to maximize coverage eligibility, including for pre-existing conditions where applicable. It covers trip cancellations, interruptions, medical emergencies, evacuation, and disruptions that fall outside what any travel advisor can directly resolve. Priscilla can provide a quote through our preferred insurance partners, or you may purchase through a provider of your choice, the important thing is that you are covered.

Because protecting your travel investment is as important as designing it. A custom luxury journey represents a significant financial and personal commitment. Comprehensive travel insurance, purchased at the time of your first booking, not the week before you leave, is the single most effective way to protect that investment.

Coverage typically includes trip cancellation and interruption, emergency medical expenses, medical evacuation, baggage loss or delay, and 24-hour emergency assistance. For trips where pre-existing medical conditions may be relevant, purchasing insurance early in the booking process is especially important, as most policies require purchase within a specific window of initial deposit to include that coverage.

Priscilla will discuss insurance options with you during the planning process and can provide a quote through our preferred insurance partners. If you choose to decline coverage, that decision will be noted in your booking documentation. We are not licensed insurance agents, and all policy questions and claims are handled directly with the insurance provider.

Yes, every client, every journey. When you return, Priscilla checks in. This is not a formal process tied to any particular tier. It is simply what good service looks like. She wants to know how it went, what moved you, what surprised you, and whether there is anything she should know for next time.

For Track B clients in The Collection, there is additionally a formal Annual Travel Review, a forward-looking conversation that maps the journeys ahead and captures everything the year behind gave you. The relationship deepens with every trip. That is the whole point.

Planning fees are non-refundable regardless of whether travel proceeds, they represent Priscilla's time and professional expertise, which has already been invested in your journey. For cancellations or major changes to individual bookings, the cancellation and amendment policies of each individual supplier apply, hotel, cruise line, tour operator, airline. These policies vary significantly by property and booking type, and Priscilla will communicate them clearly and in writing before any booking is confirmed.

For The Reserve (Tier Zero), one amendment is included, a date change, room type adjustment, or similar modification at no additional charge. Additional amendments may incur a fee.

Travel insurance is the most effective protection against cancellation losses. It should be purchased at the time of initial booking, not at the time of departure, to ensure maximum coverage, including for unforeseen circumstances that arise during the planning window.

When a supplier cancels, whether due to weather, operational issues, insolvency, or any cause outside their control, their own cancellation and refund policies govern what you are owed. Moments of Sonder acts as your booking agent and advocate, not as the supplier itself. We will act immediately on your behalf to pursue refunds, find alternatives, and manage the disruption with as little impact to your journey as possible.

This is precisely why travel insurance matters. Supplier cancellations, natural disasters, airline failures, and force majeure events are covered by comprehensive travel insurance policies in ways that no travel advisor can personally guarantee. Your insurance is your financial protection. Priscilla is your advocate.

Moments of Sonder acts as a booking agent on your behalf, arranging reservations with independent suppliers including hotels, airlines, cruise lines, and tour operators. Each supplier is independently responsible for delivering the services they have agreed to provide. While we take every care to work only with trusted, reputable suppliers and to communicate your requirements clearly, we cannot be held liable for the acts, omissions, or failure of third-party suppliers to deliver their services.

What we are responsible for is the quality of our advisory service, the accuracy of information we provide, the care taken in designing your itinerary, and our responsiveness when things need to be resolved. Our full terms and conditions, which you will review and agree to before any booking is confirmed, set out these responsibilities in detail. The strongest protection against financial loss from supplier failure is always comprehensive travel insurance.

All travelers are responsible for ensuring their own travel documents are valid and in order before departure. This includes a valid passport, typically with at least six months of validity beyond your travel dates, and any visas required for your destination. Entry requirements vary significantly by destination and by the traveler's nationality.

Priscilla will flag all known passport and visa requirements for your destination as part of the pre-departure briefing, and will provide guidance on the requirements and timelines involved. However, obtaining the necessary documents remains the traveler's responsibility. It is strongly recommended to verify entry requirements directly with the relevant embassy or consulate, as these can change.

Your feedback matters, it shapes every future journey Moments of Sonder designs. When Priscilla checks in after your trip, that conversation is the natural place to share what worked, what surprised you, and what you would want done differently.

If you would like to leave a formal review or testimonial, Priscilla will share the appropriate platform with you after your post-trip conversation. The agency is built on the experiences of its clients, and your words carry real weight for the people who come after you.
